Rafail Aliyev
Was born December 28 , 1953. From 1961 to 1971 he studied at a secondary school in Baku. In 1971, he entered the Faculty of Artistic Metal Processing at Art School No. 84 , which he graduated in 1973. Since 1977 he worked at the Art Fund of the Azerbaijan SSR. From 1982 to 1987 - studied at the Faculty of Artistic Graphics of the Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute . Since 1988, Aliyev has been a member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan and a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR . Since 2022 it has been a member of the Eurasian Art Union.
According to Russian culturologist Ilya Abel, the work of Rafail Aliyev, both in painting and in embossing, has its own individual flavor. It traces folk traditions, iconicity, and richness in deep content. In some of Aliyev’s paintings, according to Abel, there is a style characteristic of Pablo Picasso . Aliyev’s works were exhibited at numerous exhibitions in addition to his native Azerbaijan and the CIS countries, also in Germany, the USA, the UAE, the UK, etc.
Rafail Aliyev's works are in the collections of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan , the Art Gallery of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, the International Monetary Fund, other prestigious collections and in private collections, including the private collection of George Soros.
By April 2023, Rafail Aliyev’s works participated in five personal and forty collective exhibitions.
